The Best is Yet to Come in 2018

2018 is going to be a big year for me. After I graduate in May, I will officially be running two businesses alongside my husband, as well as working towards my own personal goals of fitness and writing my very first book. Not to mention, this upcoming summer, my brother and I are going to be adopted by our dad that raised us! How awesome is that? As I am looking back on the years leading up to these special moments, I am reminded of events and occurrences where I really had no vision of where God was leading me.

I have a journal thatĀ  I carry with me that says “Every single thing that has ever happened in your life is preparing you for a moment that is yet to come”. This quote is literally the epitome of how I feel 2018 is going to be for my life.

How fascinating is it to know that you are being prepped now for amazing things to come to fruition? This goes back to the scripture that says, “you do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand”. (John 13:7) I love how this scripture parallels with the quote above because I really believe that Jesus has been preparing my heart for what is to come in 2018. I may not have understood where God was leading me in the past, but I fully believe that in 2018 I will begin to truly understand God’s purpose for my life. One of my biggest New Year’s revelations is that I am my own worst enemy. No matter how well I plan for events and stages in my life, I always sell myself short. Things never go the way I plan and I am learning that I don’t have to have my hand in everything for my life. Letting go of control is something that I have always had to work at but I believe that my struggle seems easier and easier to overcome when I quit struggling and truly allow God to intervene.

It’s easy to feel stuck in moments where your vision may be blurry of what step you need to take next. Sometimes, we feel like giving up because we are unable to see the tasks at hand for what they truly are. However, the best part of notĀ having a clear vision for your life is not having to know the vision of your life. You were not meant to carry the burden of having to know all of the answers. Allow God to show you where He wants you in 2018.

The best is yet to come, so take heart and walk bravely into the unknown!

You are such an inspiration. Yes, even to me!
Your writing reveals that you are so wide awake and I love that about you. Please be sure that while you are inspiring all of us out here, that you remind your husband (especially right now) to “take heart and walk bravely into the unknown!”
    Everything is already okay.
